Weekend in Haiku

Doesn't everyone document their mini-vacation in haiku? Nerd alert -- we did. Here 'tis.

Lauren:

Four bees, and honey
A heapin’ quart of dairy
From whence does it come?

Car up! See the snake
Beverage compatible crew
Gold grapes on the porch

Watch out, broken dock
The deer shakes her tail, looks up
Seeded glass with tea

---

Husband Matt:

I floss my teeth now
Alone or with my people?
Let’s all share one strand

---

Melissa:

Sticky-sugared top
Your blueberry lemon scone
Safely in tummy

This is all a lie
The scone lies in its wrapper
Ready for your bite

Ice cream sticky blue
Thorns on vines and bugs swarm
Is honey vegan?

“Fascinating” chat
White noise obscures listening
Attention span wanes

---

Brother Matt:

Hot boiled peanuts
Roadside beauty shares wisdom
A heapin’ quart, please

Delicious sheepshead
Powerful is one’s karma
I am in trouble …

The nicest of men
Vigorous flossing at night
Sibling rivalry

Kava and tea tree
The portentous atmosphere
Lauren teaches well

Magical weekends
Gracious acts of selflessness
Sisters are the best

Produce and dairy
The cart is filling nicely
Please don’t slap the ham

Everyone asleep
Secluded in the forest
Fireflies on parade

  1. That last one, though :) Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
And tell Four Bees not to slap the ham.
